Bhopal: V.D. Sharma, the BJP’s Madhya Pradesh state president, spoke on the opposition within the party regarding ticket distribution during the inauguration of the BJP’s media center in Indore. He emphasized that the BJP is a people’s organization, the world’s largest political party, and sometimes, party members may strongly express their opinions. However, the leadership listens to everyone and seeks solutions to their problems. He noted that there were discussions with the party’s state in-charge, Bhupendra Yadav, and everything was fine. He highlighted that in a democracy, individuals are free to express their views.
Regarding the departure of Rustom Singh, a senior leader who recently left the BJP, Sharma explained that Rustom Singh was an influential figure in the party and had been offered several significant opportunities. However, if he believes he may find better opportunities elsewhere, he can make his own choices. He reiterated that it’s a democracy, and individuals can go wherever they wish.
Sharma discussed the party’s ticket distribution, mentioning that they have achieved a balance between experienced leaders and young faces. He pointed out that they had provided a ticket to a 26-year-old youth in Manawar. He stated that the BJP is in the electoral arena with the vision of development and the upliftment of the poor.
He also addressed the Congress party’s efforts to find reasons for its impending defeat, emphasizing that Congress is raising questions about the EVM because they have done nothing for the state’s people. He referred to their unfulfilled promises in the last elections, particularly concerning farmers and loan waivers. He concluded that Congress’ rhetoric will not sway voters.
When questioned about former minister Ranjana Baghel’s allegations of ticket manipulation, Kailash Vijayvargiya, the BJP’s national general secretary, clarified that he was not present at the meeting where the names were finalized. He implied that he could not comment on her allegations as he was not part of that specific meeting.
