Two men have been arrested by police who are suspected of opening fire on the Baretha toll plaza in the Maharajpura district of Gwalior following an incident in which they allegedly threw a threatening letter at one of the employees of the toll booths. Approximately 300 CCTV camera recordings were also reviewed by the officers as a part of an intensive investigation resulting in the tracked down of the accused.
The complaint submitted by a toll employee Rohit Kumar states that there were two people who came to Booth No. 7 on a motorcycle, and they were initially standing far apart. Soon one of them came on foot with a pistol in his hand. He gave him a letter to the manager and threw him a note with a warning that said: Build the highway or take off the toll. Such a death will not happen to anyone as it happened to Akash Bhadoria. The accused is said to then have fired five rounds on top of each other at the employee. Rohit Kumar was lucky enough to get away.
According to police investigations, the attack was caused by an earlier disagreement. Approximately a year back, one of the accused had a dispute at the toll plaza when he was on his way along with his father. The suspects were also reported to have admitted during the interrogation that they did the firing as a revenge.
The men caught have been established as Ashwini Bhadoria of Bhind who now lives in Gwalior and as Nikhil Chauhan of the Ghazipur district in Uttar Pradesh. The police got back the motorcycle with which the crime was committed, two helmets, a.32 caliber pistol, and a live cartridge. The case is still undergoing continued legal proceedings by authorities.
