Bhopal: Transgender people, who face scorn from their families and society, can now become constables and sub-inspectors. The Home Department has amended the Madhya Pradesh Police recruitment rules. A notification to this effect has been published in the gazette.
Based on their gender, they will be selected and trained to provide them with training. Based on their medical certification, they will be included in the physical efficiency test for either the male or female categories. Transgenders will be considered in the OBC category.
