Bhopal: The Congress party in Madhya Pradesh experiences a distinct method of internal political conflict. The growing discontent of senior leaders and internal power disputes at Congress have led many executive members to avoid attending party event platforms. The former Law Minister, P.C. Sharma, has joined senior leader Digvijaya Singh by declaring that he will avoid standing onstage during Congress occasions. According to him, he would only come to the stage to deliver his speech before exiting.
Sharma clarified his decision to avoid sitting with Digvijaya Singh as his reference point because the former central leader had previously refused to sit on the stage of events associated with multiple Delhi-based senior leaders. “I will follow his example. Whenever he does not deliver a speech, Sharma will remain off-stage throughout all programs, according to his recent declaration.”
The Congress party revealed this news during their “Save the Constitution” rally at Phoolbagh Ground in Gwalior. Many party members and workers attending the rally caused stage disorder among the crowd. Digvijaya Singh showed strong displeasure during his speech about the unruly situation that filled him with visible distress. The speaker declared his determination to avoid staging all future party meetings unless invited to address the audience directly.
The situation prompted BJP MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani to state that Digvijaya Singh could pursue any desire but remained incapable of imposing changes on the Congress party operations. Participation on the stage has become a traditional behavior of representatives within the Congress party. Congress workers continue their effort to secure a position on the stage even after it collapses. While Digvijaya may practice this policy personally, he will not succeed in restricting others from doing it. The true transformation of his party remains an impossible task for him.
