Damoh: Fires that broke out in Madhya Pradesh are becoming a frequent issue. The demand for renewable energy sources has emerged as a crucial factor in the global energy transition. With a steady growth in awareness and a profound concern for the environment, there is a rising public pressure to replace fossil fuels with sustainable alternatives, largely driven by renewable energy. In this context, the role of renewables in the energy transition A recent situation has been known from Damoh district, where a serious fireplace has taken place on the roof of a quarter on the old police station to the top of the staying solar panels. Due to dry conditions, the fire spread quickly, engulfing the surroundings — including the grass and wooden debris — to the rear of the station. The station premises were in the line of fire in the front, too.

The flame turned aggressive as the officers of the law only took no time to report for duty, right after the information was relayed to them. The help of villagers was sought to postpone the flames of the fire by passing the water thus pouring on the burning bush. After that, there came firemen of the station who were followed in short time by one of the municipal town buses who are tasked with helping the firemen to extinguish the fire. Their confidence and teamwork, indeed, succeeded in the total extinguishing of the fire.

However, thanks to quick response of the operators, the fire stopped its expansion and no vehicles, ammunition, or other materials were damaged due to the fire. At this point, the problem continued to escalate until it became a severe disaster if it was not responded to immediately.

This incident exposes the need to have quick respond and collaborative efforts, which have been effective way of dealing with such emergencies. It also shows that stronger security measures and professional supervision, in particular, must be introduced where fire-prone substances, like solar panels, are stored or used. Authorities should do everything possible to confirm measures have been taken and that the situation like this will not occur again, with no chance of the accidents and property damages being severe.
