Morena: As India and Pakistan become estranged from each other, the country pays high tribute and respect for the courage and sacrifices of its soldiers. The armed forces are kept very much alive by the nation when one thanks them. However, in the Morena district of Madhya Pradesh, a soldier has been fighting for justice since he was abducted and robbed. Having attended the police station and the SP office for the last four days, his calls for help have been completely ignored.
Deepraj Gurjar is currently a soldier placed in Jammu in the 25th Rajasthan Rifles, where he is from Roomai village in the jurisdiction of the Sumawali police station. He wrote a complaint last week to the SP office explaining how he was abducted and robbed during his visit to his in-laws.
According to his complaint, on May 5, Deepraj was driving towards his in-laws’ house with Rs 2.5 lakh in cash with him. At Ambika Mata to pray, he was struck in an attack by nine members of Jardan Singh Ka Pura, five of whom were armed. The assailants attacked him at the temple, pulled him into a car, and moved him to their village. The assailants kept further brutalizing him with gun butts and sticks to rob him of Rs 2.5 lakh, gold chain and two gold rings.
He said his brother alerted the authorities, and through this lead, free him, the Nurabad police had been able to free so. According to Deepraj, he was able to identify the attackers, and he called the police and informed them that they had previously stolen his buffaloes in January, which was also a reported incident. It appears the latest case was fueled by vengeance.
Regrettably, the authorities have not shown any interest in the suspects’ description, and a detailed description report was submitted by Deepraj. Against the backdrop of failure by the police to do anything about his case, the soldier has returned to work on his leave.
