Indore: The adoption of solar power generation in the Malwa-Nimar area of Madhya Pradesh’s West Zone Power Distribution Company has witnessed a remarkable surge, with the number of individuals harnessing solar energy through rooftop panels reaching 8,550. These solar installations have contributed to a substantial power generation capacity of nearly 110 MW.
Amit Tomar, the Managing Director of the power distribution company, expressed his satisfaction with the growing interest among consumers in embracing green energy solutions. The installation of solar panels has notably taken place at approximately 5,100 locations within the central and border areas of Indore city, while the broader Malwa-Nimar region boasts a total of 8,550 installations.
He said that “It brings us immense pride to announce that our organization has now installed over one hundred thousand solar panels! Collectively, these systems have an impressive potential for power generation exceeding that of110MW – contributed to significantly both by low- pressure (upwards of59MW)and high- pressure consumers (over51MW)!. Turning towards renewable energy methods such as solar does not only amount to greener practices but empowers individuals with the ability to create their own electricity sustainably- reducing dependence on conventional grids altogether!”
