Rewa, Madhya Pradesh: A consignment of intoxicants coming from Uttar Pradesh has been caught in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. Rewa Police has seized 4500 vials of Corex. Its price is estimated to be Rs 6.75 lakh. These goods were being brought from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh.
Hanumana police station in-charge SI Shail Yadav said that on Wednesday morning an informer gave them information about the smuggling of drugs on a large scale. He claimed that Scorpio number MP 19 CB 2251 is coming with narcotics worth lakhs. The consignment will enter from the border of Rewa district after loading from Mirzapur in UP. In such a situation, Hanumana police can siege the border and capture it.
Several teams were deployed to nab the suspected vehicle. The vehicle tried to escape through the thieves’ paths. In such a situation, on the instructions of the SP, the police force of the surrounding police station areas became active. But the driver of the Scorpio has escaped taking advantage of the darkness by standing near Tatihra. It has been cordoned off by the Hanumana police.
According to the police, 9 big cartoons have been found from the said Scorpio which was packed in plastic sacks. On opening it, 4500 vials of cough syrup have been found. The seized corex is worth around Rs 6.75 lakh in the market. At present, Hanumana Police has taken action under NDPS and MP Drugs Control Act.
