Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan chaired a cabinet meeting where several proposals were approved. The transfer date was extended from June 30 to July 7. Additionally, the cabinet gave the green light for the establishment of six new medical colleges in Khargone, Dhar, Bhind, Balaghat, Tikamgarh, and Sidhi. An allocation of Rs 6 crore was approved for the construction of 33 new CM Rise Schools.
Other decisions taken during the meeting include an increase in the compensation amount for banana farmers through an amendment to RBC 6(4). The availability of “Mama Ki Thali” in the Deendayal Rasoi Yojana was also approved. The government sanctioned a power subsidy of Rs 24,000 crore, and exemption from destitute fee for the procurement of summer moong and urad at minimum support price.
Furthermore, Rs 2 crore was allocated for the fourth phase of the Chief Minister’s Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme, which spans over 17 years. Chief Minister Chouhan also expressed pride and joy over Madhya Pradesh receiving the National Water Award, highlighting the state’s achievements in various fields, including cleanliness.
The government’s efforts to enhance irrigation potential and maximize water usage were acknowledged. Plans for the construction of pressurized pipe irrigation projects were discussed, aiming to optimize water utilization. The Government of India recognized Madhya Pradesh’s network of water structures, leading to the National Water Award. Chief Minister Chouhan extended his congratulations to the Ministry of Rural Development, Tulsi Silawat, the departments involved, and the entire Narmada Valley team for their contributions.
