Singrauli: A shocking case came to light on January 4 in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh, where four people were found dead in a septic tank, just like the incident which happened in Chhattisgarh. The revelation has caused more alarm in the region to the extent that it has attracted a comprehensive police inquiry. The case took a new twist when the preliminary post-mortem report showed all four had been shot dead in a professional way.
The body was found near Hindalco at Gate No 3 near Bargawan police station in Aurangabad. The corpses were discovered at the back of a house in a septic tank located right at the side of the highway. The public and police, including the district collector, superintendent of police, local MLA, opposition leaders, and others, reached the place immediately. When the police arrived at the scene, they said that not only was there extreme accuracy in the shooting of the victims, but there was no evidence of footprint in the entire area. The authorities have said that they were going to use CT scans on the bodies in an effort to get even more information.
Some sources have indicated that this could be a contractual killing connected with a business disagreement. The possibility of the four victims involved in an issue of a large amount of money prior to the shooting is also believed. As it stands to date, no official word has been produced to show that the two were killed because of the confrontation, but sources suggest that the disagreement heightened and they were killed.
The police, under the supervision of newly appointed Rewa Range DIG Saket Pandey, are relentlessly probing into the matter. An official statement on the case is expected to be released by this evening. The heinousness of the crime and the professionalism displayed by its perpetrators have all left society in rather a state of shock – which should not be surprising given the gravity of the crime committed, and therefore call for more definitive action to be taken. The story remains a complex one as police officers try to establish the right chronological order of events.
