Singrauli: The scrap mafia in Singrauli attempted to kill Central Security Force personnel (CISF). The mafia who were cable thieves in the Amlori mining area, fatally attacked a CISF personnel, threw him unconscious in a drain, and fled. This is no ordinary incident but an open challenge to the police.
In fact, this attack on CISF Head Constable Satishchandra Bharti took place at around 1:45 am on the intervening night of January 18-19. When Inspector Vikas Kumar went out for routine checking, the soldier was found missing from the viewpoint post. During the search, he was found lying in a dying condition in a nearby drain. The criminals beat the soldier with sticks and rods so badly that not a single part of his body was left unharmed. Not only this – the miscreants tied the soldier with the strap of his bag and threw him into the drain, so that they could commit theft without any fear. The attackers fled from the spot with about 15 meters of valuable cable wire.
The seriously injured soldier was immediately referred to Varanasi after first aid, where his condition is still critical. The big question is – if a CISF soldier is not safe, then who will guarantee the safety of the common man? There is panic in the police department after the incident. The city CSP said that a case has been registered against an unknown accused under Section 307 BNS for attempt to murder. Several police teams have been deployed to take action against the scrap mafia. A reward of Rs 10,000 has been announced for anyone giving information about the absconding accused.
