Bhind: In the festive spirit of Raksha Bandhan, a district in Madhya Pradesh, Bhind, is poised to etch its name in history by creating the “world’s largest rakhi”, aiming for a spot in the Guinness World Records. Ashok Bhardwaj, a prominent leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party, spearheads the ambitious project. This initiative stemmed from a suggestion made by fellow BJP members, which prompted Bhardwaj and his team to research existing records of this kind with an aspiration to surpass them.

To achieve this colossal feat, Bhardwaj has enlisted the expertise of an agency and employed over 10 skilled craftsmen. The materials chosen for this gigantic rakhi include fabric, cardboard, thermocol sheets, and wood. The centerpiece, traditionally circular, boasts an impressive diameter of 25 feet. Complementing this are two additional ornamental spheres, each spanning 15 feet in diameter. Visual reports emerging from Bhind have showcased the enthusiastic team diligently crafting, painting, and embellishing various components of the rakhi.

Although the final dimensions remain undecided, Bhardwaj confidently predicts that the finished rakhi will surpass all existing records in length. His aspirations don’t stop at the Guinness World Records; he intends to recognize this remarkable achievement in four other esteemed record books, including the Limca Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records.

Officials from the Guinness World Records are scheduled to visit Bhind shortly to assess the project. If all criteria are met, Bhind’s monumental rakhi will be officially declared as the world’s largest, marking a significant accomplishment in the annals of festive celebrations.
