One of the most significant revelations has come into play with regard to the factory fire of last Thursday that happened in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Initial research results show that the accident on the Sithouli Railway Spring Factory was a consequence of negligence of a maintenance company. The report further claims that the cock of the LPG pipeline was left in the open state when some maintenance was being done and this finally led to the fire.
According to reports by officials, shortly after the alleged gas leakage, a spark set the LPG on fire causing a blaze so massive within the factory premise. Five employees sustained burn injuries as a result of the fire, and the injuries ranged between 5% and 60. The emergency services arrived at the location and put the situation under control, avoiding more damage.
Reportedly, the inquiry report has found lapses, which were committed by the maintenance company that is known as Takisha Company. The investigators discovered that the normal safety guidelines were not adhered to in the maintenance process and important precautions regarding the handling of LPG lines were not taken into consideration. The inability to make sure that the gas supply valve was closed properly is also being considered as the major cause of the accident.
In accordance with the findings, Chief Factory Manager, Shivaji Shutar, has ordered the hardest punishment on the perpetrators of the negligence. He stressed that the standards of safety should be followed without concession particularly where there is flammable material in industrial settings.
Among the five injured workers, two of them have been discharged out of the treatment, and three others are still hospitalized and receiving medical attention. The authorities have ensured that accountability will be rectified once the entire investigation is completed.
