Satna: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is actively engaging in the electoral battle in Madhya Pradesh, intensifying his campaign with spirited rallies. During a recent address in Satna, Gandhi targeted the Modi government, particularly focusing on issues affecting the youth. He recounted interactions with young people during his “Bharat Jodo Yatra,” where he discovered that many, despite having pursued education in fields like engineering and medicine, were struggling with unemployment.
Gandhi raised concerns about the economic policies implemented by the BJP government, citing demonetization and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) as measures that adversely affected small businesses. According to him, the policies favored big industrialists and caused distress to the common man. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claims about his OBC background, emphasizing the significant difference between Modi’s affluent lifestyle and the challenges faced by ordinary citizens.
The Congress leader expressed solidarity with the aspirations of the youth, acknowledging their educational achievements and the subsequent lack of employment opportunities. He shared anecdotes from his travels, including an encounter with a young porter at a railway station who, despite holding an engineering degree, had resorted to manual labor due to the scarcity of jobs.
Gandhi also delved into the economic inequalities perpetuated by the Modi government, stating that large corporations benefited while the marginalized sections of society, including Dalits, Adivasis, OBCs, and the poor, bore the brunt of policies like GST. He accused the Modi government of collaborating with big industrialists at the expense of the common people.
The Congress leader assured the people of Madhya Pradesh that his party would prioritize the welfare of farmers, laborers, and small traders over corporate interests. Drawing parallels with the success of Congress policies in Chhattisgarh, Gandhi promised positive transformations for Madhya Pradesh if his party secured victory in the upcoming elections.
