Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav formally invited President Droupadi Murmu to inaugurate the coming Vikramotsav festival. The President graciously accepted the invitation, the Chief Minister stated. CM Yadav also informed the President that Vikramotsav will start from March 30 on Gudi Padwa day, that is, the beginning of the new Vikram Samvat year, celebrated by people in Madhya Pradesh.

According to the Chief Minister, Emperor Vikramaditya had laid the foundations of a democratic governance system in ancient times. He also stressed that Vikramaditya’s rule is noted for its justice, valor, and good governance. Under his reign is famously called the ‘Singhasan Battisi’ the council of ministers. As a part of this, the state government wants to ignite the younger generation by teaching them and making them aware of the values and principles of Vikramaditya.

Besides Madhya Pradesh, Vikramotsav celebrations will continue beyond the state, and major events will be organized in New Delhi from April 12, 13 and 14, CM Yadav added. On March 30, the Jal Ganga Abhiyan — a three-month-long campaign that will encompass water conservation works in Madhya Pradesh — will also be launched by the state. Vikram University will hold its convocation on the same day.

In addition to meeting the President Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav also met Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. During this meeting, he thanked Shah for his guidance at the Global Investors Summit. The CM also told him about the state’s tie-up with the National Dairy Development Board, by which milk production was targeted to come up from 9 percent to 20 percent. Amit Shah and also invited the BJP president to visit Madhya Pradesh to aid and promote this dairy initiative, benefiting the small and medium-scale farmers through cooperative effort.
