Indore: More than 50 farmhouses in rural areas of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, were checked in a checking operation carried out by the rural police. On this drive, the officials urged the people to make sure to follow the safety guidelines from the government, especially with New Year’s Eve around the corner. Ranking police officials insisted that all farmhouses should be fitted with CCTV cameras as these are compulsory.
Further, farmhouse owners were advised to act strictly on breaking such orders during the 31st night parties, no intake of intoxication, drugs, etc. Law enforcement offices said that if young participants are involved in substance use, legal actions will also be taken against those running the farmhouse.
Following previous occasions when the rural police stormed farmhouses and arrested scores of youths engaging in the act of drug abuse, proactive measure was taken. These raids showed the police a worrisome tendency, which is why, before the New Year holidays, the police acted tighter.
In order to support their actions, the rural police invited all farmhouse owners to a meeting to explain the legislation in question, the fact that these rules must be followed and that there will be no exceptions. This was coupled with on-farm visits to the farmhouses with a view of harmonizing with the norms that had been laid down.
While conducting the exercises, officers emphasized observation of all processes to prevent incidents that could cause the breakdown of law during celebrations. Owners were advised to secure their property, correct observer adequacy, and supervise activity to eliminate unlawful behaviour.
In this way, the rural police hope to prevent the use of drugs by members of the public, as well as to put pressure on farmhouse operators to protect their guests and livestock from dangerous substances. This rigorous enforcement shows that the authorities are keen on ensuring people’s safety during the festive season.
