Dindori: According to the first information report, Amar Singh Marko, who was working as Assistant Commissioner of Dindori district and is now posted as Assistant Commissioner of Seoni, is on the run, charged with fraud amounting to several crores of Indian Rupees. The police have also followed this by arresting him and preparing to auction his property because the courts ordered so. Marko is alleged to have fraudulently given near about two crores, and he vanished from his home in February 2024. The Dindori Kotwali police, who have raided several times in the Seoni area, could not arrest the accused, who is currently on the run. In the recent past, the District Court of Dindori ordered him to pay under sections 82 and 83 of his property being seized.
The charges are: Amarsingh Marko, while working in the Dindori district, embezzled a substantial amount of money issued for scholarships to SC & ST students, Scouts, Red Cross, games & sports and other activities, etc. The case was filed against him in February under IPC sections 420 (cheating), 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant) and 34 (act done by several persons in furtherance of a common intention). This was divulged by the officer in charge of Dindori Kotwali police station, Anurag Jamdar.
The charges against Marko are severe, more so because they pertain to the embezzlement of funds that were intended for welfare, which was supposed to help out disadvantaged groups or any community that may be deemed deserving.
