Indore: In the city of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, the police have uncovered a gang involved in manufacturing and selling counterfeit oil. This revelation came after a complaint from an oil company in Mumbai. The police have apprehended one suspect and seized goods and a vehicle from the accused. Currently, the police are actively pursuing the case under the Copyright Act and conducting an interrogation with the suspect.

It has been disclosed that an illicitly operated factory in the Ban Ganga police station area was producing counterfeit packaging for branded oil from reputable companies. When Mumbai-based officials of the Split Network Oil Company learned of this, they promptly filed a complaint with the police. Allegedly, counterfeit stickers, oil cans, boxes, and printing materials bearing the names of several renowned companies, such as Castrol India Limited, Honda Pro Oil, and Lubricant Oil, were being used. These fake products were then being sold in other states.

According to T.I. Neeraj Birathre, based on the complaint, the gang was filling containers with fake oil, presenting them in packaging identical to genuine products and distributing them. Acting on this information, the police arrested a suspect who was loading oil into a commercial vehicle for supply. The apprehended individual is identified as Pradeep Kumar Datta, residing in 123 Bengali Colony, Ujjain.

As per police statements, efforts are underway to locate and apprehend other members of this gang. The police are determined to capture the remaining suspects involved in this illicit operation promptly. The crackdown on this counterfeit oil production and distribution ring emphasizes the importance of vigilant law enforcement to safeguard consumers and uphold the integrity of branded products in the market.
