Shahdol: Tribal Pride Day will be celebrated in memory of the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda at a grand state-level program in the Shahdol division.
The program is planned for November 15, at Ban Ganga Maidan in Shahdol, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech broadcast online. Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will also be gracing the occasion to pay floral tribute at the feet of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
Arrangements for the function have already been made for about 50,000 people who are expected to be at the celebration, according to the district administration. To help with transportation, around 1,200 buses will be provided from Shahdol, Umaria, and Anuppur districts, so no one will face problems in reaching the venue. Also, a security personnel deployment is planned for use during the program, with about 1000 police officers drawn from the three districts.
In Ban Ganga Maidan, a program will start at 10 a.m., and Governor Mangubhai Patel and CM Dr. Mohan Yadav will pay their respects to a statue of Birsa Munda. Their performance will formally commence the event following important messages that will be delivered to kick off the ceremony, which Aogashima leaders hope will turn around the fate of the region’s Indigenous people. All these policies and schemes fit with the government’s goal of empowering tribal people, acknowledging tribal culture, and finally bridging developmental backlogs in tribal regions in terms of education, health care, employment etc.
Tribal Pride Day is celebrated every year at Shahdol, and it can be said that this day is special because of Birsa Munda, the great freedom fighter and social reformist whose struggle was followed by generations. His efforts toward indigenous rights are still felt across the country; hence, his birth anniversary is marked as tribal pride, heritage, and progression.
The major leaders are expected to attend this year’s celebration. With substantial-top official addresses expected, such an annual event is set to remind the government of its promise to promote development and recognition.
