Bhopal: On Thursday, May 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially open 103 redesigned railway stations all over India under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Transport hubs have been rebuilt and now feature new passenger amenities. In Madhya Pradesh, six of the 103 rail stations are being redeveloped, showing the importance Volvo Trains places on this state.

There are six Amrit Bharat stations in Madhya Pradesh at Shajapur, Narmadapuram, Orchha, Shridham, Katni South, and Seoni. Three of these or Shridham, Narmadapuram, Katni South, and Shajapur, belong to the West Central Railway region. The project will also upgrade two railway stations in Rajasthan.

As part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, redevelopment work has been carried out at Narmadapuram and Shajapur within the Bhopal railway division. Improvements to Narmadapuram station cost more than ₹26 crore, and upgrades at Shajapur station came in at over ₹13 crore. The recent overhaul brought better architecture, advanced features, and more comfortable facilities to these stations, all to improve what passengers experience.

According to Harshit Srivastava, Chief Public Relations Officer of West Central Railway, the new facilities at the upgraded stations are top-notch. Thanks to renovations, travelers now benefit from automatic ride gates, working escalators, a digital monitor for notices, air-conditioned waiting spaces, and better accessibility features.

Every improvement is being made within the framework of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, developed to make Indian railway stations more efficient and suitable for travelers. Prime Minister Modi’s inauguration of the Mumbai Euro Train Station is a big step forward in the country’s plans to update its railways.
