The second day of ‘Narmada Sahitya Manthan’ in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh witnessed the organization of a Heritage Walk today. Guests participated in this program, which started from Bhojshala and reached Vijay Mandir, concluding by returning to Bhojshala. The guests were familiarized with the history of the place. The heritage walk included intriguing stories related to the architecture of these monuments, such as Saraswati Temple, interesting tales associated with Raja Bhoj, and a saying related to Vijay Stambha and the difference between Raja Bhoj and Gangey Teling. Vijay Stambha, located at Bhojshala, is considered a symbol of victory, and it is said that Raja Bhoj erected this pillar after defeating King Gangey Teling.

The historian explained that these structures were built by Raja Bhoj after achieving victory. Although both monuments are under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the guests expressed that these are Hindu places. They emphasized that such places should be preserved for the Hindu community and requested prompt decisions from the court based on evidence and facts. Suryapal Singh, the author of ‘Kerala Story,’ expressed his desire for the tradition of the Heritage Walk to continue every Sunday, involving children and school students.

He highlighted the significance of connecting culture from one place to another, emphasizing that the rich heritage needs to be experienced.
