The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) also involved in a massive crackdown against drug trafficking in Madhya Pradesh, drug traffickers were caught in possession of 0.352 kilograms of drug known as brown sugar at the Bilpank Toll Plaza, Ratlam district. In the international market, the contraband that is recovered is estimated to be ₹2.46 crore.

This was done under the guidance of the Deputy Narcotics Commissioner based on certain intelligence reports. Taking the tip-off seriously, the CBN team maintained a close watch on a suspicious car that was traveling between Mandsaur and Indore. The car was stopped on NeemuchMhow Highway and at Bilpank Toll Plaza in Ratlam district.

In an extensive search of the car and its driver, the hidden heroin was found. One of the two people in the car was arrested on the spot. The black-colored vehicle that was supposed to be used to transport the narcotics was also confiscated by the authorities.

The action has been registered against the accused in the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and an investigation is being carried into identifying the point of origin of the drugs as well as the destination. Officials also investigate the potential connection to a bigger interstate drug trafficking network.

The administration of the police has also released a press note that states the action. The seizure is being considered a major move in the current endeavor to fight the narcotics smuggling into the region.
