Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh, the already famous and popular ‘Biking MLA’ Kamleshwar Dodiyar of Sailana has taken a very affirmative step by writing a letter to the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav. The letter also calls for an enhancement of wages and other emoluments bestowed to guest teachers in the state. Dodiyar has been very particular about the guest teachers and has called for an increase in the salaries of over 22,000 guest teachers in the governmental school system.
In his letter to Chief Minister Yadav, Kamleshwar Dodiyar presents a broad picture of the functioning of guest teachers within the state education system. He highlighted that these teachers, serving in primary, middle, and high schools, are being paid less than the skilled laborers running the economy today, which he says is highly unfair and an injustice.
The Biking MLA, Dodiyar, proposed a structured salary increment for guest teachers: A Basic Pay structure that includes Rs. 15,000 per month for the teachers or primary school teachers, Rs. 20,000 per month for the middle school teachers and Rs.25000 per month for the high school teachers. This proposal seeks to address the issues of provocative negligence by providing adequate compensation for guest teachers during their working period.
Dodiyar’s plea for this change was so compelling that he asked Chief Minister Yadav to issue orders to implement such matters as salary enhancements. He said that such measures would not only help alleviate the living standards of guest teachers but also help in raising the quality of education due to the stand, which can make the teachers agree to perform better.
The only member of the Bharatiya Adivasi Party to have earned a legislative seat is Kamleshwar Dodiyar, who had a lead of 4,618 votes in the previous assembly election. Overall, he secured 71,219 votes and defeated his colleague in Congress, Harsh Vijay Gehlot, by having 66,601 votes. The BJP candidate, Sangeeta Charel, had secured the third position.
