Bhopal: Huge bureaucratic changes are expected in Madhya Pradesh once the Model Code of Conduct has been implemented properly. The major transfers will be made after June 4, which will include the officials for the ministries up to the field levels, which also comprises the Collectors, Commissioners, and the Police Superintendents. The voting for the Lok Sabha election will take place, and thus, the Ideal Code of Conduct will end by June 4.

Further, even for the transfer of any officer, there will not be any proposal required to be sent to the Election Commission for their consideration. Further, the special session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly—Monsoon Session – will be taking place in July where the Mohan government will be tabling its first full-blown budget. Before this, there could be a major administrative reshuffle, that saw some officials lose their posts or transferred to other departments.

In some districts, there was seen overt act before Lok Sabha elections in the government, when it transferred Collectors, Police Superintendents, Commissioners, etc. Western officials are expected to be transferred after some experienced bad political fortunes during the elections. Such transcriptions will be based on performance in law and order and other schemes like the abovementioned ones. In this regard, the Chief Minister has launched a performance assessment of the officials.

It is, therefore, the hope of the paper that the forthcoming administrative reorganisation process will create some new faces in the bureaucratic structures of Madhya Pradesh. In this case, the government shall be able to make such transfers following the Model Code of Conduct, but this will be the last one due to the recently ended Model Code of Conduct. This came when the Centre was collecting feedback on the performances of officials during the Lok Sabha elections exercise in which posting and transfers helped shape the future posting of officials.
