Madhya Pradesh is still under the grip of cold weather and the cold weather is expected to increase even more in the days ahead. The Meteorological Department reported that since December 5, winter will be gripping the state. The temperature will decrease drastically after the next two days and the severity of cold waves is likely to be experienced in some of the districts.
It is anticipated that a new Western Disturbance would be activated in the region of the Himalayas since December 5. It is set to cause its effects on December 6 and 7 all over Madhya Pradesh. The snow in the hills in the north will cause cold and icy winds to blow over MP leading to a worse winter.
The greatest effects of these icy winds are most likely to occur in the districts of the Gwalior, Chambal and Ujjain divisions resulting to biting cold. It is also likely to see a huge decrease in the temperature of the areas in the Bhopal division especially in Sehore and Vidisha. Districts like Niwari, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh and Panna of the Sagar division are expected to experience severe cold. Strong cold winds may also be experienced in the Rewa division, particularly Mauganj, Sidhi and Singraeli. On the same note, the Mandla and Dindori in the Jabalpur division as well as the Indore, Dhar and Jhabua in the Indore division will experience very cold weather.
The coldest place in the state is Pachmarhi. On Monday-Tuesday night the lowest temperature of the hill station was 7.2 o C. Rajgarh came up with 8.50C followed by 8.60C at Naogaon. At least 8.7C were witnessed at Kalyanpur- Shajapur. In Bhopal as well as Indore temperatures went below 9 o C. Umaria read 9.3 o C and Rewa 9.6 o C.
As the colder winds near and the temperatures decrease continually, people are expected to experience a sudden increase in the intensity of winter throughout the state in the next week.
