For the last two years, Bhopal December minimum temperature has touched a low 7.5°C this winter,r beating the previous record. The current cold winds blowing across the state have amplified the cold front, which has lowered both day and night temperatures in several districts. This winter, one of the popular hill stations of Madhya Pradesh, Pachmarhi, recorded the temperature as low as 3.5 degrees centigrade.

The Meteorological Department has sounded a cold wave warning for the next three days in 16 districts, including Bhopal and Indore. The lowest temperature recorded in Bhopal was found to be merely 7.8°C lower than the normal range on Wednesday. Cold day conditions are even expected in other districts of the district like Ujjain, Shajapur, Jabalpur, Dhar, Agar-Malwa, Rajgarh, Sehore, Vidisha, Sagar, Narmadapuram, Raisen, Damoh, Narsinghpur, Seoni, etc. chilly winds are expected here.

The cold wave has begun as a number of regions in the state have recorded low temperatures: Betul 8.4 degrees Celsius, Dhar 7.6 degrees Celsius and Indore 8.4 degrees Celsius. Compared with minimum temperatures, which were 8.6 degrees Celsius for 2022 and 8.8 degrees Celsius for 2023, the extremities of the winter are clearly depicted this year.

Since Tuesday morning, there has been frozen wind blowing, making the climate freeze more and more. The Meteorological Department has also predicted cold wave conditions in Dhar, Guna, Badnagar, and Ashoknagar on December 11, 12 and 13. These areas have been advised to keep warm as the weather remains cold during this period.

Finally, the tough winter begins in the state; however, in the middle of December, it is accompanied by cold winds and sleet as a sign of severe winter approaches.
