Madhya Pradesh: Citing the sudden surge in COVID-19 cases across the state, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced new guidelines to tighten the measures. Speaking to the collectors of Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur and Gwalior, CM Chauhan has pressed the authorities to maintain strict measures and stay put.
As per the new guidelines, all functions can be held with a maximum of 250 guests, while the funeral processions can be attended by 50 people only. Social gatherings and processions have been banned until further notice. Individuals infected with the virus will have to undergo a 7-day isolation period. Meanwhile, there is no new instruction for educational institutions. They will continue to function with 50 per cent attendance. The crises management committee Bhopal also ascertained a fine of Rs 200 on movement without masks.
In the past 24 hours, the state health bulletin has reported 594 cases. The active tally stood at 1544. The death toll raised after one death was reported from Jabalpur. Amongst the newly infected individuals are ACS Animal Husbandry JN Consortia, wife and daughter along with Minister Govind Singh Rajput. Nearly 319 are infected in Indore while 126 are in Bhopal.
