Jabalpur: The police took major action and seized gold worth Rs. 2 crores and arrested a young man, who is a resident of Annapurna Nagar, Indore. Due to assembly elections, code of conduct has been imposed.
Garha police arrested Saurabh late at night carrying three and a half kilos of gold jewelry in auto. According to the information received, this jewelry is worth two crores. Presently, the Income Tax Department team along with the police is interrogating the young man who has been detained as he did not have the receipts for the gold jewelry.
Earlier on September 10, Ratlam Police uncovered a similar gold smuggling racket and confiscated 13 kilograms of gold worth Rs 8 crores from two men who were carrying it in a trolley bag. Sustained interrogation revealed that the consignment was being transported via Bombay Duronto Express in concealed packets in a trolley bag.
