Bhopal: It has come to light that several people chosen for the Madhya Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2023 could have cheated to pass the exam. The crooks impersonated people, altered their fingerprints and used third parties to sit the written exam on their behalf.

According to details from the police headquarters, many recruits who took the written test were helped by those who sent in the test answers. They changed the information on their Aadhaar, such as their images and biometric details, to appear like the solver. After passing the test, the candidates changed their Aadhaar data to the real information and continued in the selection process without being caught.

At present, 16 FIRs have been made in six areas, and 24 suspects have been detained for their connection to the scam. Coverage of the network is not only in Madhya Pradesh, but also includes Bihar and Chhattisgarh. It was found that most of the solvers were from Bihar, and the updates made to Aadhaar were completed using login information of Aadhaar centres in Chhattisgarh.

At least one exam solver is said to have sat tests for seven different candidates in various regions. The accused asked each parent between ₹5 to ₹10 lakhs for their child’s admission. According to officials, over 50 people may have masqueraded in the exam in the state.

Last year, there was an advert for 7,411 constable posts, and 6,446 candidates were selected. There are reports of the scam in at least eight districts, such as Shivpuri, Sheopur, Indore, Gwalior, Alirajpur, Rajgarh, Morena and Shahdol. The ongoing investigation may stop some people who did not qualify from taking part in the elections. Anyone who helps find absconding suspects will be given a monetary award of ₹10,000.
