Satna: A drug trade was being run at a hardware store in Satna district, Madhya Pradesh. Police raided the site and recovered more than 400 narcotic tablets. The operator has been arrested and sent to jail. A search is underway for other suspects.
Kothi police in Satna arrested the owner of a hardware store with banned narcotic tablets. A vigorous search is underway for three other accused. Trainee DSP and station in-charge Ashutosh Tyagi stated that a campaign is underway against medical drug abuse. Meanwhile, following information from an informant, a raid was conducted and a search was conducted at Jai Maa Durga Hardware located in the city’s Mishraulia Complex.
The launch of “Operation Prahar 2” against narcotics on Monday made a statement that has put a question mark on the credibility of the state police. “I have a list of those policemen who are like fish polluting the pond… If this list is made public, their families will be embarrassed,” the IG declared before hundreds of officers.
416 narcotic tablets (52 tablets) were recovered from the possession of the shop owner, Hemant Shekhar (31), a resident of Royni, Kothi police station. The accused shop owner was arrested and charged under the NDPS and Drug Control Acts. During interrogation, the accused also revealed the names of three associates involved in the drug trade, and efforts have been initiated to apprehend them. Hemant Shekhar was produced in court and sent to jail.
