Former minister Omkar Sing Markam began questioning the allocation as soon as the day’s proceedings began, and other Congress members backed him up. The Speaker begged them to remain calm so that Question Hour could proceed. The lawmakers, however, continued to talk at the same time, and the Bharatiya Janata Party fired back from the Treasury benches. An adjournment was announced as the House plunged into turmoil.
The Second Supplementary Budget, which exceeded Rs 19,000 crore, and the Redressal and Recovery of Damages to Public and Private Property Bill were two of the session’s highlights. On Tuesday, lawmakers debated a Congress-introduced adjournment motion on the issue of Other Backward Classes reservation in panchayat elections. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan tabled a resolution on Thursday that stated that the OBC quota would be an important part of the elections.
