Indore: In the bustling district of Indore, the process of re-inspecting the voter list is rapidly reaching its conclusion, with only two days remaining for the task. As of now, the District Election Department has been inundated with a staggering total of 195,793 applications. Of these, a predominant 108,050 applications pertain to the inclusion of new names.

This comprehensive revision of the voter roster is scheduled for completion by August 31. To ensure a seamless process, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are stationed at all 2,484 polling booths across the district to receive and process applications. In our digital age, aspirants also have the option to submit their applications online using the Voter Helpline App.

Within the district, various activities related to the voter list, like the addition, deletion, and modification of names, are in full swing. Specifically, there have been 16,180 applications for the removal of names and 71,563 for corrections. Dr. Ilaiah Raja T, the Collector and District Election Officer, has made a fervent appeal to the residents. He urges them to meticulously review the voter list, ensuring their names are registered. If not, they are encouraged to apply for inclusion.

Based on insights from the District Election Office and in line with directives from the Election Commission of India, the voter list update is slated to wrap up by August 31. Citizens are welcome to approach their respective BLOs at polling stations to verify their registration status. Notably, BLOs are currently accepting applications through Form 6, Form 7, and Form 8. An interesting highlight of this revision is the proactive move to enlist citizens who will turn 18 by October 2023, enabling them to exercise their franchise in future elections.
