Bhopal: Union Home Minister Amit Shah strongly criticized the Congress and several other opposition parties on Sunday condemning the practice of politics, as “harmful.” He emphasized how much politics concentrates power within a family.
During his visit to Bhopal, where he also presented the Madhya Pradesh government’s 20-year performance report (2003 2023) Shah expressed his disapproval of the Congress Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena for perpetuating rule. Without naming leaders, he pointed out that these parties revolve around a family in both their party leadership and governmental roles. This, according to Shah, is at the core of politics.
Shah reiterated that it is evident how Congress, DMK and Shiv Sena prioritize members from a family lineage in both party leadership and government positions.
In response to allegations regarding BJP distributing tickets to family members of its leaders, Shah defended the party’s position by asserting that ticket allocation is based on merit and capability. He emphasized that we should not confuse this issue with the problem of politics. Dynastic politics poses a threat.
“When political parties become akin, to a familys possession what happens to those individuals who work their way up and genuinely serve at the level?” he pondered.
