Bhopal: A major innovation has occurred in the political climate of Madhya Pradesh. Newcomer Cabinet Minister Ramnivas Rawat has been posted at the Forest Department in the Mohan Cabinet. Earlier, this portfolio was with Nagar Singh Chauhan, who has been posted to the Tribal Welfare Department forest. The Mohan Cabinet of Madhya Pradesh got the second expansion on July 13, and Ramnivas Rawat resumed his ministership. Governor Mangubhai Patel swore the oath, while Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav witnessed the event. After 13 days, the departments will be assigned.

Ramnivas Rawat joined the BJP from Congress on April 30, and the LS polls are around the corner. This state of Madhya Pradesh legislative assembly member has been elected six times from the Vijaypur constituency in the Sheopur district. Rawat also became the acting president of the Madhya Pradesh Congress. Hence, for the BJP, his transfer has brought added strength to the Gwalior-Chambal region, which is why both state and central headquarters have supported his posting. After the official intimation to the Governor, the arrangements for Administering the oath of office were made at Raj Bhavan.

The political profile of Ramnivas Rawat can be reviewed. However, even after the BJP achieved a brilliant victory in the Assembly elections held in 2013, securing 163 of the 230 Assembly constituencies, Rawat emerged as triumphant as he was among the 66 Congress party MLAs. Sharp as a tack and having the gift of a good command of the language, Rawat has been actively participating and even leading for the Congress in the legislative assemblies and other forums and discussions.

Rawat is placed at a very high political status as a leader of the OBC community in Madhya Pradesh and is now also a part of the Mohan cabinet. His influence is expected to consolidate the BJP’s gains from the recently heating up reservation issue in the union across the Gwalior-Chambal division. Rawat, a 64-year-old man, lives in Sunwai village in the Sheopur district. He is married to Uma Rawat they have two sons and two daughters.
