Sehore. Microorganisms have been confirmed in the water at VIT University in Ashta, Sehore, Madhya Pradesh. The PHE department has sent its report to the district administration. Based on the report, the health department will issue an advisory.
Actually, regarding contaminated water and bad food, the PHE department had taken 18 samples of drinking water being supplied in the VIT college campus. When their lab testing was done in the laboratory, 4 samples failed and mild microorganisms were found in them. The PHE has sent this report to the district administration. Now, on the basis of the report, the health department will issue its advisory. PHE’s Executive Engineer Pradeep Saxena said that 18 water samples were taken from different places in the VIT campus. Out of which 4 samples failed. The test report has been sent to the administration.
Show cause notice to the university
Meanwhile, the Higher Education Department has issued a notice to the university’s Chancellor, seeking an explanation within seven days. He was asked why action should not be taken against him upon the receipt of the investigation committee’s report. He also threatened unilateral action if he failed to respond. The notice cited the investigation report of the Madhya Pradesh Private University Regulatory Commission.
The matter was highlighted when recently, when students at VIT University, located in the village of Kothari in Ashta on the Indore-Bhopal highway, complained about contaminated water and food, the hostel warden and guards assaulted one student. This led to a huge uproar, including vandalism and buses being set on fire. Police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. Currently, the university management has declared a holiday until December 8th.
