The railway authority has come up with elaborate instructions to be followed by the those passengers who ride the metro train in Bhopal, the capital city of the state of Madhya pradesh. The regulations are comparable with the air passengers and are designed to provide safety, discipline and smooth running of the metro system.

The guidelines will forbid the transportation of pets and birds within metro trains by passengers. The emergency button will be used improperly without any substantial purpose, which will entail a heavy penalty of up to ₹10,000. Moreover the spitting in the metro train or in the premises of the station will also attract a fine of 200.

The new rules have a number of restricted items listed. The passengers are not allowed to carry petrol, diesel, weapons, open bidis or cigarettes, matchboxes, lighters, gutkha, tobacco products, and even dry snacks. Mobile phones and smartwatches are allowed, but carrying drones, satellite phones, portable radio communication devices, and cameras is highly forbidden.

Guidelines also give passenger eligibility. Individuals with infectious diseases, those who are mentally unstable, intoxicated, and cannot control themselves will not ride on the metro. These are supposed to be safety and comfort measures to all commuters.

Like air travel, baggage restrictions have also been brought up. The weight of the luggage that passengers can carry should not exceed 25 kilograms. Transportation of too much baggage will not be allowed.

According to the officials, these measures are taken in order to preserve the cleanliness, discipline, and security of the metro system. It is recommended that passengers should pay close attention to the guidelines in order not to face any penalty and receive an easy experience during travelling in the metro of Bhopal.
