Bhopal: Pravesh Shukla was apprehended in Madhya Pradesh after a video circulated widely depicting him urinating on another individual while smoking a cigarette. As a consequence of this event Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has decided to utilize the National Security Act against Shukla sparking significant political controversy. After evading capture from authorities initially. Shukla was eventually apprehended by the police at 2 am. He is currently undergoing interrogation. Shukla is facing charges under different sections of the Indian Penal Code the National Security Act, and the SC/ST Act. In connection with the investigation the police also interviewed his wife and parents.
The victim, Dasmat Ravat, a 36-year-old man from Karaundi, denied the authenticity of the viral video when questioned by the police. However, sources suggest that his affidavit stating the video was fake may have been prepared under duress and not yet submitted to any authorities. Meanwhile, Shivraj Singh Chouhan tweeted that the accused will be given punishment irrespective of his caste, religion, or politics.
The opposition Congress party has brought attention to the incident as an indicator of a broader concern regarding violence against tribal individuals in Madhya Pradesh. Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath expressed his outrage, demanding the strictest punishment for the perpetrator and an end to such atrocities against tribal communities.
In spite of the appearance of photographs portraying Shukla alongside BJP MLAs Kedarnath Shukla and Rajendra Shukla on social media. The party firmly disavows any affiliation with him. Kedarnath Shukla clarified that while he knows Pravesh Shukla because he is from his constituency, he is neither his representative nor a BJP worker. The controversy surrounding the incident continues to escalate, raising concerns about the treatment of tribal communities in Madhya Pradesh.
