Bhopal: In a development leading up to the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Malkhan Singh, formerly a well-known bandit in the challenging Chambal region officially joined forces with the Congress party. This significant move took place on Wednesday amidst a heated atmosphere as the region prepares for the upcoming electoral battle.
The state Congress headquarters in Bhopal hosted a welcoming ceremony attended by party members. Kamal Nath, the states Congress president and former Chief Minister, along with Govind Singh, the Leader of the Opposition, formally welcomed Malkhan Singh into the party. The event also saw Santosh Sharma, previously serving as a district education officer in Sagar and Chhatarpur, join their ranks. Former State Congress President Kantilal Bhuria graced the occasion with his presence well, adding to its importance.
Expressing his dedication to the party’s cause, Malkhan Singh confidently declared his intention to actively campaign for Congress. “Wherever I campaign ” he asserted, “I will ensure that Congress emerges victorious. Our mission for the 2023 assembly elections is not competing but about achieving a resounding defeat for BJP. Our ultimate goal is to see Kamal Nath reinstated as Chief Minister.”In agreement with this viewpoint, Kamal Nath stated, “Malkhan Singh’s words embody not his thoughts but also reflect the hopes and emotions of the entire state.
The public is calling for a transformation and our collective goal is to fulfill that demand.” The inclusion of such an individual showcases the party’s efforts to strengthen its support among the people.
