Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan has presented a gesture, to women police officers by handing over the keys to 250 motorcycles. This initiative aims to empower the 950 dynamic women help desks operating in police stations across the state. The campaign, known as “Main Hoon Abhimanyu” (I am Abhimanyu) carries the theme “Lets Educate the Boys ” focusing on nurturing sensitivity towards women promoting gender equality, and instilling values among children and men.

The rally started from Bhopal’s Motilal Nehru Stadium. Will pass through locations including Vijay Dwar, Control Room Square, Raj Bhavan Tiraha, Roshanpura, TT Nagar, Platinum Plaza, Atal Path, Jawahar Chowk, Rangmahal Square, Roshanpura Square and Lalperand Ground. This campaign aims to raise awareness and encourage changes in behavior by fostering respect and empathy towards women in society.

The second phase of this campaign is scheduled to take place from August 1st to August 15th throughout the state. It will include a variety of programs such, as debate competitions, questionnaires, street plays, screenings of films, and Marathon races organized in schools, colleges, and public spaces. During the stage, which began in June the state saw a turnout of, over 300 programs with the participation of more, than 100,000 individuals.

In a society where men hold most of the power, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressed the issue of women’s safety. Stressed the need, for tangible actions to bring about positive change. He shared an incident where a shopkeeper acted inappropriately towards a girl who was buying bullets and biscuits. This incident influenced his decision to ensure that 30 percent of the police force consists of women.

The Chief Minister expressed his dedication to safeguarding daughters and combating crimes against women. The introduction of scooters for police officers aims to send a message to potential wrongdoers and serve as a deterrent against such offenses.
