Jabalpur– As is quite shocking, Mukul Singh, the main accused in the latest double murder shocking Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, has finally disposed himself into the police. On Tuesday, late at night, Mukul surrendered himself and accepted his crime of killing Rajkumar Vishwakarma, a railway employee, and his son, Tanishk.
The double homicide took place three months and 15 days ago, or more precisely on March 15, when Mukul is supposed to have entered the Vishwakarma residence in Millennium Colony to murder Rajkumar and Tanishk. The case then shows that Mukul escaped the law following the brutal act, and for over two months, he had eluded arrest.
The trust in Aditya was ill-founded when, three days ago, the police caught Mukul’s minor girlfriend in Haridwar. Her detention, as it can be seen, played a role in swaying Mukul’s decision to seek to give himself up because he could not afford to be separated from her. The couple had been sheltering together across some parts of the country, including Haridwar’s place in India.
The police followed times of enforced rest with aggressive pursuit, and Mukul was no exception: he successfully evaded the police due to his constant change of hideouts. As per the information available, he is known to have spent more than a decade in these ten places and several other significant cities such as Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai, Vishakhapatnam, Bangalore, Shillong, Amritsar, and Haridwar. The chase was on that the Jabalpur police had to rush to Nepal for nabbing the man.
Although the police pursued him relentlessly, Mukul continued his criminal activities until his girlfriend, a key suspect in the robbery, was apprehended. After this, the psychological pressure and all the options for safe havens to run away from justice dwindled, which must have made him surrender himself to the law.
Further to their investigation of the case, Mukul’s proceeding to confess takes the police to a critical stage in solving the case. His surrender will help catalyze the discovery of the reasons surrounding the murders as well as what happened during his escape and being on the run.
