Indore: In the economic capital of Madhya Pradesh, Indore, miscreants continue to target the elderly and women. Once again, the city witnessed a shocking incident as culprits robbed a 60-year-old elderly man after withdrawing money from a petrol pump. The police are diligently scrutinizing CCTV footage to apprehend the perpetrators.
According to Jagdish Khema, Chandan Nagar Police, the victim, identified as Rajmola, a 60-year-old resident of Shriram Nagar Tarawali Chanda Dhar Road, complained to the police station. He recounted the incident, stating that around 10 a.m., the manager of Kashyap and Company petrol pump, Ajay Yadav, had instructed him to go to the pump and deliver a sum of Rs. 1,75,000 in a bag. Following the manager’s directive, Rajmola proceeded to the petrol pump and awaited a bus on Dhar Road while holding the bag.
At that moment, an unknown youth wearing a blue shirt approached him. Suddenly, the youth snatched the bag from Rajmola and swiftly escaped. Despite the elderly man attempting to pursue the culprit for a short distance, the youth, accompanied by an accomplice on a motorcycle, managed to evade capture.
Promptly responding to Rajmola’s account, the police have registered a case under various sections and initiated a thorough investigation. The incident highlights the growing concern over the safety of senior citizens in the city, as they increasingly become targets of daylight robberies. The police are leaving no stone unturned in examining the CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the suspects responsible for this audacious act.
