An airport repair work is in progress at the Indore Airport during the night time to provide security to the passengers and the normal functioning of flights. The maintenance work is undertaken according to the requirements of the Directorate General of the Civil Aviation (DGCA) that requires the runway resurfacing after every 10 years. This is a regular maintenance to make sure that aircraft landing and takeoffs are safe and effective.
The airport authorities claim to have got the necessary special permission regarding the work by the DGCA, and all airlines utilizing the airport were notified of the project prior. Flight operations have been called off between 10.30 pm. and 6.30 am. each day to aid in repairing it. This window will enable the technical staff to operate without necessarily being pressed and accomplish the required maintenance safely and efficiently.
The airport management highlighted that the work was likely to be done by December. That is trying to reduce any inconvenience to the passengers and general flight schedule has been changed to prevent any significant and drastic inconvenience. The administration has requested all airline operators to closely collaborate in this much needed safety project through following the new flight schedule and following timely operations.
The officials also added that, after the repair job is done, the runway will be in a far more favorable state than before and will increase the efficiency of the entire airport, as well as the ability to have 24-hour flight operations again.
