The record of 95 years was broken in the month of July. 798.7 mm of rain was recorded in the city. 1050.3 mm of rain fell in the monsoon season. The quota of rain for the whole year was completed in the month of July itself. So far, 236 percent more water has fallen than the quota. It rained 22 days out of 31 days in July.
Rainfall Records For The Past Century
- In 1990, 623.3 mm of rain fell in July. This was the highest rainfall record till date, which was broken this year. 798.7 mm of rain fell in July.
- There has never been 1050.3 mm rainfall in June and July in the last 25 years. During this period, the maximum record of rainfall in two months is 549.6 mm in the year 2011.
- The maximum rainfall recorded during 24 hours this year is 174.9 mm. This rain occurred between June 25 and 26.
- It has never rained for 22 days in July in the past 100 years.
Since June 16, an average of 28 inches of rain has fallen in MP. Till now, 17.6 inches of water was supposed to fall. According to this, 10.5 inches more rain has fallen. The normal rainfall in MP is 37 inches. The rain quota has been completed in 10 districts of the state, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashok Nagar, Rajgarh, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Morena, and Sheopur. Here, 50 percent more water than normal has fallen. Tikamgarh-Niwari has received the most rain, whereas the least amount of rain has fallen in Indore.
