Bhopal. Guests attending the Global Investor Summit will be able to see the Asiatic Lion. For the first time, lions have been released in the enclosure at Van Vihar. This pair of lions has come from Junagadh in Gujarat. The Global Investor Summit will be organised at the Anthropological Museum adjacent to Van Vihar. Top industrialists like Ambani, Adani, Birla will participate in the GIS. Along with the guests, common people will also be able to see the Asiatic lions.
On Saturday, the Chief Minister of the state Dr. Mohan Yadav welcomed the start of the arrangement for tourists to see the lions after the arrival of ‘Asiatic lions’ in Bhopal’s Van Vihar. He expressed happiness over this achievement. The CM said that under the Wildlife Exchange Scheme in Madhya Pradesh, the “Asiatic lions” brought from Junagadh, Gujarat about two months ago have been released from the quarantine enclosure in Bhopal’s Van Vihar for tourists to observe. Now the local and domestic-foreign tourists coming here will be able to listen to their roar as well as enjoy the unique pleasure of their movement.
Chief Minister Dr Mohan said that along with promoting wildlife tourism in Madhya Pradesh, the state government is committed to the conservation and promotion of wildlife. Continuous efforts are being made in this direction. Asiatic lions are found only in Gujarat. The presence of Asiatic lions, considered special among wild animals, in Van Vihar Bhopal will prove to be important for the development of wildlife tourism in Madhya Pradesh. Among the Asiatic lions that came to Van Vihar, Bhopal, there is a male “Juna” and a female “Giri”. After keeping both of them quarantined in the enclosure, they were being continuously monitored. At present, both these Asiatic lions are completely healthy.
