Bhopal: The Chief Minister, Dr. Mohan Yadav, has issued the directives for the best possible medical aid to the injured police personnel Constable Shiv Kumar Sharma, who was critically injured in the exchange of firing between Police forces and Naxals in Balaghat district. Dr. Yadav advised the principal secretaries that the best medical care should be provided to Sharma, and he further reassured them that all costs regarding his treatment should be borne by the state government.
The Chief Minister also talked to the doctors attending to the injured constable on the telephone about his health condition. He extended his heartfelt feelings for the injured Hawk Force team member and prayed for the recovery of the persons who were critically injured during an anti-Naxal operation. Presently, Sharma is admitted to a hospital at Gondia in the state of Maharashtra and is receiving treatment. Dr. Yadav extended his best wishes for Constable Sharma’s quick recovery and expressed appreciation for his braveries and commitment towards duty.
The incident happened on Sunday, 17th of November, during a sting operation by the Hawk Force SOG team in Kundul Hill Forest in Ukwa. On the arrival of the police party, they came across an armed Naxalite group, which comprised 12 to 15 persons who fired at the members of the security forces. Nevertheless, the police retaliated with great spirit, and the Naxal group had to run away from the scene of the crime.
After the confrontation, the security forces stepped up the efforts to pursue the fleeing militants in the area in a massive cordon and search operation. The Naxals have been booked under different sections at the Ruprahar police station.
The state government ensured that it would continue to do all it could to protect and safeguard its security forces, pointing out that Constable Sharma and his team showed a lot of gallantry in their fight against Naxalite menace. This makes the government come in support of people who sacrifice their lives for the safety of the nation.
