Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh, will be the host of the Global Investors Summit (GIS), where guests from all over India, particularly those from abroad who are invited, will be gifted with something distinctive yet a representation of the rich culture that the state is blessed with. Madhya Pradesh’s legacy will turn into some memorable gifts that will take home every entrepreneur and investor at the summit.
To also give guests a special token of appreciation, the government will give them a stone replica of the Shalabhanjika, which is often called the Indian Mona Lisa. This exquisite sculpture — it has an exquisite smile — will long impress conference attendees with Madhya Pradesh engraved in their hearts. Visitors will also get Badarwas Jacket, a handcrafted garment of Shivpuri district.
However, MSME Commissioner Dilip Kumar said these exclusive gifts are a part of the state’s ‘One District, One Product’ initiative under which Madhya Pradesh supports indigenous crafts from various districts. The Shalabhanjika replica, found in the 10th century around Gyaraspur village in Vidisha, has gained national fame, and it will also be given to the Global Investors Summit attendees. Housed in Gujari Mahal Museum in Gwalior, the sculpture is turned into a tree goddess on account of the unmatchable magnificence of her female figure and her beguiling grin.
The making of these replicas was thought out by an internationally acclaimed sculptor, Deepak Vishwakarma, a President Award-winner with a team of 15 who are creating 70 replicas from Gwalior Mintstone. It is being done at the Regional Mart and Craft Design Center in Gwalior.
The Madhya Pradesh government intends to make their visitors experience something unforgettable, which would comprise the state’s artistic and historical grandeur through gifting these masterpieces. These souvenirs will help remember the state’s fertile legacy in the rich cultural field and reassure its identity in the country’s global arena.
