Katni: The forest department was alerted and swiftly responded after the lifeless body of a female leopard was found in Katni district, Madhya Pradesh. Upon receiving the information, a team from the department promptly arrived at the location. Following a thorough examination of the site, the leopard’s body was taken into custody for further investigation. To aid in the investigation, a dog squad team from Jabalpur has been summoned.
The incident occurred near Madera Talab in the Karondi Beat area of Umariapan forest range Dhimarkhera. Beat guard Rajesh Mishra received news about the demise of the female leopard at approximately 2:30 PM on Thursday. Alongside the team, he promptly reached the spot to assess the situation and reported the incident to the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO).
The forest department estimates that the deceased leopard was around three to four years old. A dog squad team from Jabalpur has been called in to conduct further investigations. Forest Range Officer Ajay Kumar Mishra stated that the cause of the leopard’s death can only be determined after a post-mortem examination. Currently, the leopard’s body has been sent to Jabalpur for the post-mortem process.
The discovery of the deceased leopard has raised concerns and highlights the need for thorough investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding its death.
