Khandwa: An FIR has been lodged agaisnt 25 unidentified people for raising threatening slogans during Muharram processions in Khandwa.

The matter surfaced after a video of the procession floated the social media inciting legal proceedings against those involved in the procession. In the video recorded at Jalgi Chowk people are heard saying slogan- ‘ Sir se Tan se Juda Kardengey’ which is being suspected as a response to Nupur Sharma’s comments on Prophet Mohammed.

The FIR is filed under Section 188 based on the complaint by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Mahadevgarh temple administration. The complaint demanded strict action those involved in the frenzied procession. CSP Poonamchand Yadav in a media interaction assured of strict action against those involved.

Ashok Paliwal, the patron of the Mahadevgarh temple, said earlier, slogans of ‘Sir Tan Se Juda…’ have been raised inside the police station. A case was registered but no coercive action was taken.
