Preparing the 2025-26 state finance budget in Madhya Pradesh has politically begun in the Finance Department. In this capacity, the department has sought specific status reports from many government departments to understand the local machinery’s actions and status on the government’s announcements. These reports will, in turn, inform the framework for the next budget. It is planned that on January 15, 2025, the Deputy Chief Minister will address the issue of readiness of these preparations.
To avail effective and wide-ranging planning, the Finance Department has directed all the departments to submit about new schemes of state and central government. This is information about the welfare schemes introduced by the government and the persons who benefited from those schemes. Each department also has to provide data regarding specific target areas like cattle preservation, health initiatives, eradication of slums, employment, government jobs, tourism, education, and new government initiatives.
The upcoming budget aspires to achieve the encompassing development objectives while maintaining development goals. Following a focus on the concept of governance effectively and efficiently with a focus on the welfare of the citizens, the government plans to review the efficient and effective manner of resource mobilization and the proper implementation of welfare policies. This preparatory phase shows the concept of working in synergy by different departments and that their goals should be harmonized with the vision of the state.
A review meeting chaired by the Deputy CM on January 15 will be used to review the progress in these areas to ensure that the budget has incorporated viable plans. In order for the Finance Department to develop a budget that meets the needs of addressing the state’s issues and opportunities, departments are expected to furnish current data.
To achieve this goal, the government wants to receive suggestions from all departments during the preliminary stages of forming the 2025-26 financial plan to ensure that it meets the development needs of the public.
