Ujjain: Former Congress councillor of Wazir Park ward, Guddu Kaleem, was killed in cold blood in his house in Wazir Park in Neelganga Police Station area within the Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh state in the early morning at around 5 a.m. The gunmen fired several bullets at Kaleem. The police have initiated an investigation into the scene, recollecting clues from the security camera and collecting evidence from the crime scene.
Kaleem’s family claims that the murder is over some properties which started a decade ago. They accuse his wife Neelofar, Danish and Asif, his two sons, of perhaps playing a role in the slaughter of the Ex-Congress councillor. Based on such accusations, the police have taken his wife and sons for interrogation about the matter.
It would be the last time Kaleem would set foot in the police station – only four days before he was killed, on October 7. He presented a string of recent attacks that had happened for the past one and a half weeks. Kaleem felt that someone was trailing him, more so tagging along in a vehicle.
He also lodged a complaint about a case that on October 4, when he was walking comfortably along Ruchishree Garden for a morning walk, a black car with tinted glasses and no registration number tried to approach him. A man got out and fired a shot in the process. The man got lucky and shot Kaleem, but he ducked. Two more shots were fired as he attempted to escape, but he tripped and twisted his hand to break it. Another FIR was then filed on October 9 for an unidentified person.
It is, however, important to note that Kaleem used to be involved in criminal activities, although he had changed his life for years. The murder once again centres on the saga of a property dispute, which has been going on for a long time within his family.
